Best of July – in words and pictures!
July is always a weird month. Normally it’s extremely hot, and yet you have to work as holidays (which I normally take in August) are not here yet. Well, this year things were completely different!
I spent three amazing weeks in Italy – first my hometown, Rome, then Puglia for one of my best friends’ gorgeous wedding, then Rome again for my sister’s graduation.
Rome is always nice – I love to meet up with friends and family and catch up about latest news from both sides. And let’s not even mention food and shopping… Had some of the best pasta in my life and bought some beautiful beachwear you might have seen on my Instagram page (@chiaramariasassu).
But Puglia was the real highlight of this Italian trip. I’ve been to the most amazing resort in Salento – Le Capase. A wonderful building nestled on top of a cliff, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Strait of Otranto. Spent long days relaxing poolside and reading. I’m just back in Beijing and already miss that feeling so much.
And then Alessandra’s wedding… Well, I’m a sucker for romance and I love love in all its shapes, but this time I was really overwhelmed… Alessandra was so beautiful in her white dress, her husband, Francesco, was so excited and the setting they chose – in a traditional trullo – was so contemporary and romantic!
Then back to Rome for my sister’s graduation! Carolina is 26 and she spent last 6 years studying at Medical School and helping sick people in need. She is about to become a very good doctor, with knowledge and a human touch that is often so important.
At the Coffee Table, interviews from Singapore (Vysnavi N. Doss), Beijing (Theresa Rae and Rob Cunningham) and more were posted and Hope Evans, new member of the team, started contributing with some fun mood boards about stripes, Emma Watsons and more. Keep your eyes open – Hope has a very sharp eye and she can’t wait to share more stories with you.

And now August. Time for fall planning and thunderstorms. Can’t wait.
